Sit
Sit is a very useful behavior for many moments with our dogs. When we teach our dogs what sit means; we can then ask them to sit when they would like something or to have them in the sit position to wait or stay. When we teach it correctly and use it properly we can expect our dogs to start using it on their own when they would like something (manners).

Automatic sit comes after you train and ask for it often. Here I just put Riggs’ food on the floor, I don’t ask for anything or tell him to wait. He just knows that he is not allowed to eat until he sits and then gets his release word. Manners at their best.
