September use to mean cooler temperatures and fall around the corner when we lived in Canada. Now it typically means the hottest month of the year that I do not look forward to. But it does mean that the cooler temps. will come but we have to wait a couple more months.
This months addition to the Cookie Club are actually muffins. Enjoy!

Training tip #9
Socializing through association. Socializing is so very important with new puppies and can even be needed with adult dogs. Rewarding with healthy treats while introducing your dog to new things you create a positive association. When an adult dog has an issue with the environment, people or other dogs you want to reward for the tiniest of success.
Say your dog is afraid of a statue that you regularly walk by. Tossing treats at a distance around the object until they are feeling confident. The treats get closer as their confidence grows; until you can walk by and offer a single treat at their amazing success.
